Mody University of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh was represented by Dr. K. L. Ameta, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, College of Arts, Science and Humanities, , Lakshmangarh, at the National Conference “Organic Chemistry in Sustainable Development: Recent Advances and Future Challenges (OCSD-2016) organized by Department of Chemistry, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani on 29th August 2016. This conference was based on the theme of sustainability in Organic Chemistry. The various eminent speakers from all over the India including Prof Uday Maitra from IISc Bangalore, Prof B. K Patel from IIT Guwahati, Prof I. N. N. Namboothiri from IIT Bombay, Prof Manmohan Kapur IISER Bhopal, Dr C. V. Rode NCL Pune and many more senior scientist were gathered at the conference to discuss the sustainability in the organic chemistry processes. Dr. Ameta spoke about“Synthesis of Potentially Bioactive Heterocycles via Sustainable Chemistry”. Dr. Ameta dwelt at length on the applications of different green chemistry tools like water mediated/ microwave mediated/ ultrasound mediated/ molecular iodine/ nanocatalysis in the synthesis of potentially bioactive heterocycles.
