LECTURE WORKSHOP – A REPORT
Two days Science Academies lecture workshop on “Nanoscience& Nanotechnology: Challenges and Opportunities” has been successfully organized by Dept. of Nanoscience and Technology, FET ,Mody university of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh , Sikar , during 21-22 November, 2014.
The lecture workshop has been sponsored by Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi & National Academy of Science, Allahabad.
Prof. Ashok Kumar Ganguli, FAScFNASc, Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali was the convener of the workshop. Prof. Vishwanath (Vish) Prasad, The honorable President of the University was the patron and Prof. J.V.Desai, Dean, FET was the Chairman of the workshop. Prof. M. K Jha was the Co-chairman and Prof. Amit Mukherjee was the advisor of the workshop.
The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Amlan Kumar Das, Humanities & Science, FET.
The workshop was basically aimed at the college and University teachers, graduate, post graduate and research students belonging to the institution of the state of Rajasthan and nearby states to give them exposure and an opportunity to interact with the eminent scientists and professor from reputed institutions to gather knowledge about the latest field of research in nano science & technology and its application in various field. The workshop has been designed to have useful relevance to the curriculum covered in the post graduate, graduate and under-graduate programmes and did also cover some topics at the research level.
Eminent scientist & professor from various reputed institute like Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Kharagpur and Kanpur has delivered their lectures on the above mentioned topic.
Inthis workshop we had an overwhelming response of around 200 numbers of registered teachers & students participants from all over the state and nearby places. Participants from as good as 16 institutions have participated in the workshop and have taken the full advantage of interactions with the eminent scientist of the field.
There were five (5) distinguished invited speakers for the workshop.

5.Dr. Priyanka, Scientist C , Institute of Nano Science & Technology, Mohali
A total of 09 lectures were delivered in the two days workshop encompassing topics related to nano science & technology and its application in various field.
Topics have been covered in the workshop – introduction to nano science and technology and their application in various field. Application of nano-materials and technology in solar energy, magnetic storage device, catalysis, nanosensors, application of nanomaterials in biological and medical science.
