Deepavali celebration on the campus of Mody University Oct 23, 2014

On the eve of Lakshmi puja day, Oct 23, 2014 the Tapovan area of the campus was illuminated with hundreds of Diyas and decorated with flower garlands and colorful Rangolis.The celebration on Thursday is most important as Lakshmi Puja, worshipping the goddess of wealth, is the main event of the festival of lights, Deepavali. It also was very significant for Mody University as first time a puja and havan was conducted in the yagyashala of the Tapovan. At sharp 7 p.m. regular aarti was conducted at Shri Ram Durbar (temple). All the attendees then moved to yagyashala for Lakshmi Ganesh Puja and havan. President of Mody University Dr. Vishwanath (Vish) Prasad and his wife Mrs. Charu Prasad sat for the puja under the guidance of pundit Shri Akhilesh Tiwari. After the Puja, the Prasad was distributed .The atmosphere was full of festive spirit and all the small children brought fun element to it. All the attendees then moved to dining hall where Mr. Navin and his team served delicious special festive spread inclusive of Malpua and Gulabjamun. After the sumptuous dinner everyone assembled together and once again exchanged Deepavali greetings, thanked the dining hall staff and left feeling blessed. It was a great Diwali night for those who were present on the campus.
