Mody University of Science and Technology has successfully enlisted its name as one of the top universities by providing quality education and high class facilities with world class infrastructure. It always aims to offer commendable learning environment far from the city-pollution and make the campus the ‘home away from home’ to its students and staffs. Along with the highly advanced educational facilities, the 300 acres of green campus consists accommodation for over 1000 students with amusements, medical aid, meditation hall and other facilities. Now they are aiming to increase the lodging, boarding, extra-curricular activities and other logistics. And, to avoid overload in the power supply station, the university begin construction of 33 KVA Sub Station on the campus.
On June 2, 2014 a ground breaking ceremony (Bhoomi Poojan) was performed by Dr. Vishwanath Prasad, President of Mody University to begin the construction of 33 KVA Sub Station on the campus. Presently the university has one substation of 11 KVA to cater up to the load of 1500 KVA. Thus to accommodate the additional load, two new substations of 33 KV and 11 KV are being constructed. This will cater to a load of 3000 KVA, which is double of the existing load and the university will be able to handle the load even if the campus is doubled. Thus this additional substation will provide 24/7 power supply without interruption to the new facilities which will be ready shortly. The new projects include the state of the art auditorium with 1100 seating capacity, new cafeteria with a capacity of 182 seats, 23 new units of student hostels to accommodate additional 2162 students, 3 new units of teacher’s hostels to accommodate additional 58 teachers, 26 new buildings consisting of 56 flats for professors and 6 cottages. It will also cater to the projects in the pipeline such as new Central Administration Building, Student Center, and Shopping Mall.
GM Engineering, Col (Retd.) Madhu Sudan Sharma and his team will be supervising and implementing this project.
