Legal Literacy Camp

It is been immense pleasure to announce that College of Law and Governance  has organized a Legal Literacy  Camp in Government Primary School Khuri Bari village , on December 5, 2017to educate students (age 6 – 10 years)  about the good touch and bad touch on their body part and what are their rights . It was an awareness programme on “Sexual harassment of children and their rights”.(We use word gender harassment instead of sexual harassment with the students of primary school so that so that they do not focus on the term sexual but can get the idea that this is a special form of harassment). Camp also aware the students about child marriage, domestic violence and dowry demandetc.

The camp started with an enthusiastic and motivational speech of Ms. Lakshita Dadheech (B.B.A.LL.B., 4th year). Further it was continued by a skit which dealt with the problems of  Child Abuse (odd type of touching), Child Marriage, Eve teasing, Dowry Demand, Domestic Violence with a view to portray how a well aware and educated child and woman can stand-up for their  rights and raise their  voice against all odds.

The skit was followed by a motivational speech on “Rights of Children and Women Empowerment” by Ms. Pushpita Dutta .

The entire programme was concluded by inspiring words of Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Assistant Professor, College of Law and Governance.

Student coordinators of the camp were Ms Pushpita Dutta, Ms. Saloni Singh B.B.A.LL.B. IV Year) and Ms. Taverika Sethi(B.Com. LL.B IV Year)

Our 19 students are participated in the whole programme, including distribution of pamphlet and display of posters on “Good touch and bad touch on body parts and Women Empowerment”.
